Collecting Your Personal Information
The Policy relates to personal information collected by any means. It is Hudson's usual practice to collect this personal information directly from you. However, often your personal information is collected through the use of Hudson's website or in response to Hudson's printed and online advertisements.
Furthermore, there may be occasions when Hudson will source personal information from an external third party, or a publicly available source. If Hudson does not have your prior consent, Hudson will take reasonable steps to inform you that it has collected personal information from the third party.
Use of Personal Information
To assist Hudson in the provision of its services, it collects your personal information. Hudson may collect personal information from you so that Hudson can:
- you in finding or retaining work;
- Assist in your career performance or management;
- Analyse human resource and labour markets;
- Develop tests and assessments in order to place you in appropriate roles; or
- Help in work rehabilitation.
Generally, the personal information Hudson collects about you may include the information that you place in your job application or resume, for example, your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, career history, details of any competency tests or other information relating to your career.
As a general rule, Hudson does not collect sensitive information about you. However, in circumstances where Hudson requires sensitive information from you for the purpose of providing our services to you, or if the law requires Hudson to provide such information, Hudson will first seek your consent to collect it
Use by Third Parties
Hudson may use and disclose your personal information to third parties for the purposes it was collected, or for a related or ancillary purpose such as providing you with one of our services. Accordingly, Hudson may disclose your personal information to a number of third parties, including but not limited to:
- Hudson's related entities;
- prospective employers;
- clients who may wish to engage your services as a contractor or temporary employee;
- Hudson suppliers or service providers, including organisations that conduct competency or psychometric tests on behalf of Hudson;
- your nominated referees;
- any government authority, or workers compensation body;
- any law enforcement body, including the New Zealand Police; or
- any educational or vocational organisations to the extent necessary to verify your qualifications.
If Hudson discloses personal information to any third party, Hudson will generally request these parties to protect such personal information in the same way that Hudson does.
Hudson takes reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information it collects is accurate, up to date and complete.
In circumstances where your personal information has changed please contact the Privacy Officer, they will endeavour to update and correct the information. Hudson may also contact you from time to time to check the information is still correct.

Information Collected on Hudson's Website
When you access Hudson's website, Hudson gathers information about users collectively. Such information includes the areas that users visit most frequently and the services users access the most. Hudson will only use such data anonymously and in the aggregate. By doing so, Hudson can optimise the services it provides to you.
Hudson may also collect personal information that individuals choose to provide via online forms or by email. Any personal information provided online is treated in the same manner as any personal information collected through other means (unless specifically outlined in this Policy).
The Hudson website uses "cookies" to help you personalise your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a webpage server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalise Hudson pages, or register with the Hudson site or services, a cookie helps Hudson to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same Hudson website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Hudson features that you customised.

Hudson and Feedback Submitted
Hudson websites have several areas on the site where you can submit feedback. Any feedback that is submitted through this area becomes the property of Hudson. Hudson may use this feedback for marketing purposes, or to contact you for further feedback on the site

Hudson may change this Policy from time to time for any reason and will update the Policy accordingly.
